I think the idea that trans women are specifically only replicating cis womanhood (however poorly) and that this is a unidirectional process I feel like is extremely undermined by the fact that almost everyone I know who is trans was originally inspired by having met another trans person (regardless of assignment) and frequently seeing people across the trans spectrum as the larger watershed moment of realizing their transness. I know this was the case for me, more than I can locate any specific cis woman or cis womanhood!

right?

years of being around cis women did not inspire me to transition, but like one conversation with a trans woman and i was all FUCK ME THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO BE

And then there is the cis obsession with the idea that trans people might be attracted to them (oh the horror!) while in my experience most trans people’s idea of WOW PLEASE DATE ME YOU AMAZING PERSON is mostly other trans people.

It’s almost as if there is nothing particularily interesting about cisness.
