my archeology professor studied textile production during the late iron age in what is today israel and surrounding countries and there’s something oddly inspiring about that. almost all his published research is about a single topic in this very specific time period and area. like, hell yeah! get a kind of niche interest and get yourself a doctorate with it!

he loved to talk about it, too. i wish i had half as much interest in anything as that man did talking about weaving methods in ancient israel during 1200-1000 BCE.
